The John Gosden trained filly takes home a second Group 1 win of the season
A high-class renewal of the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes saw five Group 1 winners line up on Newmarket’s Rowley Mile. Much of the pre-race talk centred around the hugely improved Matron Stakes winner Champers Elysees and her quest for further Group 1 honours on the other side of the Irish Sea.
But it was to be Tattersalls’ Falmouth Stakes winner Nazeef who prevailed in the Soft conditions. Winning in the end by a length and a half from Half Light, with Richard Hannon’s Cloak Of Spirits back in third.
So game! 💙🤍

Nazeef’s next engagement could see her head back to Ascot to contest the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) on QIPCO British Champions Day. The mare, who showed a fondness for the Berkshire venue earlier in the year when winning the Duke of Cambridge Stakes, is currently a 10/1 shot for the race.
