Closely related to the Group Two winner Echo Of Light, Irish History was unraced as juvenile but made a winning start to her career as a three-year-old when scoring impressively by six lengths in a mile maiden at Windsor on 21 May 2012.

The daughter of Dubawi reappeared just 10 days later at Sandown, when she took on the colts in the Listed Heron Stakes over a mile. After being hampered entering the final furlong, she could fare no better than seventh, although she was beaten under six lengths in total.

On June 22 at Royal Ascot, Irish History confirmed her earlier promise when a fine third in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes, again over a mile and in the QIPCO British Champions Series Fillies & Mares division. She ran right up to this form when fourth to Giofra in a strong renewal of the Group 1 Etihad Airways Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket on July 13, also in the Fillies & Mares category.

But she failed to fire in three subsequent 2012 starts, finishing out of the first five in three appearances at Group 3 or Listed level and has now retired to stud.
