Maarek was purchased for just £2,500 at Doncaster in April 2010, having failed to make the racecourse for his original handler, John Gosden.
By the end of 2015, he had 13 of his 53 races and won £732,000 in prize money.
He has been a regular in the QIPCO British Champions Series over the years, especially in the Sprint on Champions Day.
Maarek won the 2012 renewal, when getting his favoured soft ground, but missed the break and never figured when defending his crown a year later.
He was a decent fourth in 2014 but, running in it for a fourth time, could only finish eleventh to Muhaarar in 2015.
