The Qatar Racing star provided his jockey Oisin Murphy with a first ever British Classic victory as he landed the re-scheduled QIPCO 2000 Guineas, for trainer Andrew Balding.

Sent off at 10/1, the son of Kitten’s Joy stayed on much the best after the dip at Newmarket just claiming Wichita and hot favourite Pinatubo in the final furlong.

It was a poignant victory for the 24-year-old rider. Winning for the trainer who took him on as an apprentice, Andrew Balding, and in the Qatar Racing silks for his supporting owner HH Sheikh Fahad bin Abdullah Al Thani.
