The daughter of Classic-winning trainer Fulke Johnson Houghton, Eve Johnston Houghton took over the licence from her father at the start of 2007.

She was previously an accomplished amateur rider and enjoyed 20 successes in the saddle including the Diamond Race at Ascot – the top prize for lady amateur riders in the UK. She also spent time working for syndicate manager Henry Ponsonby and Lambourn trainer John Hills.

The best horse she has trained is now retired The Cheka, who provided her with a first Pattern race success when taking the Group 3 Timeform Jury Stakes at Haydock in 2011 and went on to take second in the Group 1 Darley July Cup at Newmarket in 2012, race four in the Sprint division of the QIPCO British Champions Series.
