Racing runs in the blood of Francis-Henri Graffard as his grandfather was National Hunt breeder Dr Henri Champliau.
Since established his stable in Chantilly, in October 2011, he has sent out more than 200 winners with Bateel, winner of the Prix Vermeille in 2017, among his present stars.
She almost provided him with a first Champions Series success, too,when runner-up in the Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot on QIPCO British Champions Day.
Before joining the training ranks he was selected for the Godolphin Flying Start programme and spent time in Ireland, UK, USA, Australia and Dubai before joining Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley team, where he supported John Ferguson in the UK and France. He also spent three years as assistant trainer to Alain de Royer-Dupré.
